Pastor's Notes

51:3         “Waste places” and “desert” by like Eden.  Even now, where 60 yrs ago desert, incredible crops.  Yet, pointing to even greater time, referred to as Millennium.  JC rule from Zion and whole earth changed.  Scripture indicates pre-fall glory and beauty.  Some interesting things Isaiah tells us in 65,  be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; For behold, I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing, and her people a joy…No more shall an infant from there live but a few days, nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days; for the child shall die one hundred years old. AND The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, The lion shall eat straw like the ox.  Change is coming!

51:6a       Jesus said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall never pass away" (Mt 24:35). Interesting, even scientists believe universe growing old.  Refer to giant clock wound up and gradually winding down.  The sun loses 1,200,000 TONS of mass every second!  Every hour diameter shrinks 5’.  Fortunately very large and should be fine for about 10 billion years.

2 Pt 3:9-13 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise…But the day of the Lord WILL come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens WILL pass away with a great noise, and the elements WILL melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it WILL be burned up…the heavens WILL be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements WILL melt with fervent heat…Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;

Ps 1:5-6  The ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.  For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Pr 29:25  The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.

Lk 12:4-5  My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.  But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!

51:18       Mt 15:14 Referring to Pharisees:... Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.   Prior Judah's captivity, no godly leadership, and thus people followed blind leaders right into a ditch.

Rv 12:13  Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.

Zech 13:8 And it shall come to pass in all the land," Says the LORD, "That two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die, But one -third shall be left in it: I will bring the one-third through the fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested.

2 Cor 5:20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.

Zech 12:10 I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.

Zech 13:1 In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.

Zech 14:11 The people shall dwell in it; And no longer shall there be utter destruction, but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

Zech 12:9 It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

Zech 14:3 Then the LORD will go forth And fight against those nations, As He fights in the day of battle.

Zech 14:12-15 And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet, Their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, And their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths.  It shall come to pass in that day that a great panic from the LORD will be among them. Everyone will seize the hand of his neighbor, and raise his hand against his neighbor's hand;Judah also will fight at Jerusalem. And the wealth of all the surrounding nations shall be gathered together: Gold, silver, and apparel in great abundance.  Such also shall be the plague On the horse and the mule, On the camel and the donkey, and on all the cattle that will be in those camps. So shall this plague be.
