Pastor's Notes 33:4 Initially Hez tried pay off Assyrians, but that didn’t work. Then tried to make alliances w/ other nations. Didn’t work. Finally waited upon the Lord! And 185K! Plundering must’ve been tremendous, when something similar happened during time of Elisha, enormous price drop in groceries. 33:6 When Assyrians destroyed, righteousness only lasted as long as Hezekiah did. But, God treasured it. It was real! Doesn’t want us to respect Him because commanded by men. Isa 29:13, w/ Mt 15:8-9. |
