Pastor's Notes

City David dwelt once “Ariel”, but about be brought low. The state of people described in verses 9-13. Eyes closed to God and His Word. Those who could read and understand are in same place as those who can’t.  So, replaced fear of God with commandments of men.  No passion/relationship.  God was going to change this.

29:15       It appears that even though warned leaders not trust man for protection, secretly making alliance w/ Egypt.  They are so cunning, if hide from Isa then Lord not know.  This is foolish…Heb 4:13, Mt 26:15 w/ 27:9, 26:25 "Rabbi, is it I?" He said to him, "You have said it."Jer 42 Johanan and Jezaniah, “Ask God”…Asking easy, obeying hard (what type of prayer more effective?)  Repeatedly told critical that not place their trust and hope in men or worldly security.  God viewed this alliance w/ Egypt as an act of rejection rather than desperation.  He has promised and by their actions, they are calling Him liar.  When has He ever failed?

29:17       Re 3:11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.  (Purposely struggle, they will try and take what I have given you)

Re 22:7 Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book. (Guard like a fortress His Word.  Believe it, hold to it, trust in it)

Re 22:12 And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. (How you respond to 1st two tells you what the 3rd means).

Re 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming quickly." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Lk 17:1 It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!

Jn 5:23 all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

Rv 14:6-7 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth--to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people--saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water."

29:24       Complainers…Efficiency expert concluded lecture with note of caution. "You don’t want to try these techniques at home." "Why not?" asked somebody. "I watched my wife’s routine at breakfast for years," the expert explained. "She made lots of trips between the refrigerator, stove, table and cabinets, often carrying a single item at a time. One day I told her, ‘Hon, why don’t you try carrying several things at once?’" "Did it save time?" the man asked. "Actually, yes," replied the expert. "It used to take her 20 minutes to make breakfast. Now I do it in seven."
