Section "burdens", God dealing world’s government. 3 "burdens" this chptr. Last burden covered, Egypt. At end, Lord loves lost so much, draws even Egypt/Assyria during Mill. Isa clearly tried reveal to Israel, the folly trusting any earthly security rather than Lord Himself. This chptr cover Babylon, Edom, and Arabia. Might think repeat Babylon (chpt 13). Why? Isa 39:1-4…>concerned not trust lion to deliver from leopard. Always look up for security Ps 118:9.

Vs. 2 Persia’s tribal name Elam, "Persian" = "horsemen" which Cyrus trained armies ride. So, interestingly enough, 200 yrs before event, while Media small tribe and “Persians” haven’t sprang existence. Before Babylon rises as 1^st major world empire, God warns ultimate conclusion. Now no way, any man guess even if only hundred years prior. God exists! Exactly fulfilled…Interesting the effect vision. Spiritual interaction often physically affects…(Mexico)

Vs. 5 Sort of a “victory party”. Must refer Babylon because a tower. City 15 mi², outer wall 350’ and 88’ thick, every 100’ had 100’ towers. A moat between outer and inner. Incredible supernatural detail in chpt 44-45, when talks about drying rivers for man specifically named Cyrus who’ll find gates open and cause king to loose his loins (Dn 5:6). Pretty specific for a 150+ yr guess. (Babylon Prophecy stuff!)

Vs. 9 Suddenly in midst banquet, cry comes…Seems utterly fulfilled by Medo-Persians, except very very specific link to Rv 18:2. Mighty, lucrative, inconquerable world system suddenly be destroyed. 1 Th 5:3 World will be just as mortified. But read Rv 18:20!

Vs. 12 Edom: “When night over?” W/ all conflicts and wars (Egypt/Assyria), tired of being staging grounds. “Are we there yet?” Good news and bad. Will be a break, but Babylonians coming. Then comes this cry, either from Edom that good times return, or from God that they turn to Him. Either way…"I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." (Jn 8:12)… But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Cor 4:3-6) Return…
